Making the Most

The maasai of Kenya are known for many things, key of which is their culture.Among the maasai, the cows belong to the men and the milk to the women.Despite the large herds of cattle they have, maasais have never commercialised their milk. The women of Ilkipirash in Kajiado Kenya with the help of TechnoServe Kenya (http://www.technoserve.org/our-work/stories/maasai-women-launch-successful-dairy-business) got together and formed a cooperative society to help them market their milk. This they did and in turn improved the lives of many families economically through the sale of milk to various processers. This blog is about those women and the joy of their labour.
